rearview mirror

We arrived in Lubbock around Aug. 1, 2012, and I have been trying not to use old stereotypes to color my judgment. OK, well, the "rearview mirror" song is first, but it was pointed out to me that Mac Davis also said that happiness was coming back to Lubbock after being gone. So it works both ways, and I want you to know that I've been around a bit ("this is not my first rodeo," as I heard someone say), I'm not too quick to judge, and I'm well aware things could be worse. I am in Lubbock basically for my wife's career, but I move here with my eyes wide open and a documenter's eye for what I see. I'll use this site to explore an interesting city, and be a little blunt about what I find.
